Book highlight: Family Stories of Faith

May 15, 2015 Alison Taylor
A collection of faith-promoting stories in one family's experience, with a beautiful watercolor painted by a family member as the cover illustration.

This week we thought we'd show you a book that just came back from the printer, and that we thought was a great idea. This family collected a faith-promoting story from each extended family member and put it together in an inspiring book. The stories are personal and intended only for their family, including some stories about those who have already passed on and from those who are in the thick of life now. It's a great example of a spiritual memoir or "ethical will" that focuses on the values that are important to you. What a great legacy--to leave behind not just stories about what happened, but what it meant to you. (The cover illustration is a beautiful watercolor painted by one of their daughters.)

Stories of the faith of their ancestors.

From ancestors down to the more recent generations, the stories all contain a thread of faith.

Because the family knew that children would also be reading the book, they wanted to keep the design graphic and simple with a large, sans-serif typeface. This is a story about a great-uncle who gave his life for others during World War II.
